Aahana Anupam
Aahana is a student at Bridgewater-Raritan High School with a passion for the intersection of psychology and medicine. Fascinated by the connection between the mind and the body’s chemical processes, she is driven to better understand how these systems work together to influence health and patient outcomes. Beyond academics, Aahana tutors students across a variety of grade levels through Learn To Be, helping them build confidence and strengthen their understanding in challenging subjects. As an Education Ambassador with G.I.R.L.S., she is committed to inspiring the next generation of young women to pursue STEM while promoting a more inclusive and supportive scientific community. Looking ahead, Aahana hopes to combine scientific research, compassionate patient care, and advocacy to make a meaningful impact in the field of medicine.

Sydney Kim
Sydney Kim is currently attending Swarthmore College, where she hopes to continue exploring the intersection of STEM, creativity, and community engagement. She is passionate about creating environments in which girls feel comfortable asking questions, developing new skills, and imagining themselves as future innovators. Sydney joined G.I.R.L.S. to support educational outreach and mentorship initiatives that make STEM more accessible, collaborative, and welcoming. Through her involvement, she hopes to encourage younger students to pursue their interests confidently and recognize that they belong in every area of science and technology.

Christine Hu is a student at the University of Pennsylvania with an interest in interdisciplinary learning, problem-solving, and educational equity. She joined G.I.R.L.S. because she believes that mentorship and exposure to new opportunities can profoundly influence how young women view their potential. Christine hopes to contribute to programs that introduce girls to different STEM pathways, connect them with supportive role models, and help them develop the confidence to pursue ambitious academic and professional goals.

Kaavya Selvakumar
Kaavya Selvakumar is a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a passion for innovation and the transformative potential of science and technology. She joined G.I.R.L.S. to help build a stronger and more inclusive community for girls interested in STEM. Kaavya hopes to use her experiences to support mentorship, educational programming, and outreach that make technical subjects feel approachable and exciting. She is especially motivated by the opportunity to help younger girls develop confidence in their ideas and see themselves as future engineers, researchers, and leaders.

Emmanuella Amoako Kwatia
Emmanuella Ofosua Kwatia Amoako is a Ghanaian law student, writer, researcher, and advocate for literacy and education. She is the founder of the Kwatia Literacy Guild, an initiative that teaches emerging writers the art of storytelling and encourages them to use their work to address important social issues. Her essays and articles explore education, gender equality, youth empowerment, and the role of writing in creating social change. Emmanuella has facilitated writing workshops, judged competitions, and led mentorship programs that have supported students in Ghana. Through these experiences, she has seen how access to guidance and creative expression can help young people develop confidence in their voices. She joined G.I.R.L.S. to expand this work by encouraging girls to communicate their ideas, advocate for their communities, and view writing as a powerful tool within STEM, leadership, and public life. Her goal is to make education and storytelling more accessible while inspiring young people to become thoughtful and courageous changemakers.

Amara Jones
Amara Jones is a public health student, emerging social entrepreneur, and advocate from Sierra Leone. His work centers on gender equality, environmental sustainability, youth leadership, and the protection of women and girls. Amara gained national recognition for helping lead a peaceful nationwide protest against sexual and gender-based violence, amplifying the experiences of survivors and calling for stronger accountability and systemic reform. Beyond public advocacy, Amara has championed community-led initiatives that empower women and girls through education, leadership development, environmental conservation, and sustainable livelihoods. His work has contributed to mangrove restoration, climate resilience, and economic opportunities for vulnerable coastal communities while helping create safer and more inclusive spaces for women and young people. Amara’s commitment is inspired by the resilience of women and girls who continue to overcome inequality despite significant barriers. He joined G.I.R.L.S. because he believes education, mentorship, and economic opportunity are essential to lasting social change. Through grassroots organizing and collaborative action, he hopes to help build a future in which every girl can live free from violence, realize her potential, and become a leader in transforming her community.

Bwambale Isaac
Bwambale Isaac is a Ugandan medical student at Kampala International University, youth leader, and advocate for gender equality, adolescent health, and community development. He is passionate about empowering girls and young women through education, health awareness, mentorship, and leadership development. As a United Nations Millennium Fellow and Peer Educator with the Uganda Women’s Network, Isaac has supported initiatives promoting menstrual health and hygiene, sexual and reproductive health education, gender equity, and the protection of girls’ rights. He previously served as public relations officer for the Association of Medical Students of Kampala International University and contributed to the organizing committee for the 21st IFMSA African Regional Meeting, where he supported youth engagement and collaboration. Isaac joined G.I.R.L.S. because he believes health, education, and confidence are deeply connected. He hopes to contribute to programs that give girls reliable health information, supportive mentors, and opportunities to develop as leaders. His goal is to help create communities in which girls can make informed decisions, pursue their education, and become agents of positive change.

Sharifuddin Adam
Sharifuddin Adamu is a Nigerian human-rights lawyer and the founder of She Has Her Future Advocacy, a movement dedicated to advancing girls’ education and women’s empowerment. His work in Masaka/Jankawa, Karu Local Government Area, addresses barriers that can prevent girls from remaining in school, including economic hardship, street hawking, early marriage, limited family support, and restrictive social expectations. Adamu has led campaigns encouraging community leaders to challenge practices that deny women inheritance and other family rights. Through community outreach, mentorship, financial assistance, and conversations with parents, he has helped more than 17 girls continue pursuing their education. He uses the stories of accomplished Nigerian women to show families how educating girls can strengthen both households and communities. As the first person in his family to attend university, Adamu’s advocacy is rooted in his personal understanding of how limited education can leave women economically dependent and vulnerable to mistreatment. He joined G.I.R.L.S. because he believes an educated girl can design her own future, understand her rights, and become a leader in her community. Through the organization, he hopes to expand mentorship and educational access while helping families recognize the long-term value of investing in their daughters.

Emery Twajamahoro
Emery Twajamahoro is an education advocate from Rwanda and the founder of the Isomo Program, a community initiative that provides free English-literacy education to children from underserved communities. Through this work, he has gained experience organizing educational programs, mobilizing volunteers, and building relationships with local communities. Emery joined G.I.R.L.S. because he believes education can give girls the confidence and opportunities they need to shape their futures. He hopes to organize book donation drives, mentorship and career conversations with women leaders, and workshops focused on confidence, leadership, and educational access. By connecting literacy with mentorship and personal development, Emery aims to help girls recognize their abilities and become active contributors to their communities.

Simbarashe N. Sancruz
Simbarashe N. Sancruz is a health-science student and community advocate from Lundazi District in Zambia’s Eastern Province. Alongside his studies at the University of the People, he brings experience in strategic consulting and has contributed to organizational initiatives with VAGO. His work centers on youth leadership, health literacy, community education, and the development of sustainable systems for managing regional resources. Simbarashe has experience facilitating community workshops and developing strategic frameworks intended to improve access to information and essential resources. He believes sustainable development requires inclusive leadership and the systematic removal of barriers that prevent girls and women from accessing education, healthcare, and decision-making opportunities. He joined G.I.R.L.S. to connect his interests in health and community development with a global movement for girls’ empowerment. Through the organization, he hopes to support health-literacy programming, leadership workshops, and educational initiatives that equip girls with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves and their communities.

Ekechi Maryjane Chinwendu
Ekechi Maryjane Chinwendu is an education and youth advocate from Ebonyi State, Nigeria. She is passionate about helping girls from rural and underserved communities overcome limited access to STEM opportunities, mentorship, educational resources, and career guidance. Ekechi believes every girl deserves the opportunity to reach her full potential, regardless of her background or financial circumstances. She joined G.I.R.L.S. to create educational experiences that help girls discover their interests in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and leadership. She hopes to organize book and school-supply drives, STEM-awareness workshops, digital-literacy and introductory coding sessions, and career conversations featuring accomplished women in technical and professional fields. She also wants to develop mentorship programs centered on communication, confidence, goal-setting, and personal growth. Ekechi’s long-term goal is to build a supportive network in Ebonyi State where girls feel encouraged, equipped, and empowered to pursue higher education. Through G.I.R.L.S., she hopes to help develop a new generation of innovators, researchers, and community leaders.

Chizurum Ikegbuna
Chizurum Ikegbuna is a health-science graduate, registered dental technologist, health-services and technology advocate, and member of the 2025 Millennium Fellowship cohort. Chizurum is interested in how healthcare, education, and emerging technologies can work together to improve people’s quality of life and expand access to essential services. Through G.I.R.L.S., Chizurum hopes to introduce girls to the many opportunities available at the intersection of health and technology. Chizurum is particularly motivated to support mentorship, health-education programming, and conversations that show girls how STEM can be used to solve practical community challenges. The goal is to help young women develop both the technical knowledge and leadership confidence needed to become healthcare innovators and advocates.

Abubaker Baloch
Abubaker Baloch is an emerging youth leader from Balochistan, Pakistan, with experience in human resources, climate leadership, community service, and youth engagement. He has worked as a summer intern with National Resources Private Limited, focusing on strategic human-resource planning, and has represented the Balochistan Emerging Leaders Initiative as a campus ambassador at the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi. Abubaker has also been involved with the Balochistan Youth Action Committee, where he developed experience in event planning, brand ambassadorship, and climate advocacy. He was selected for a climate-leadership summit, participated in Climate Forward Pakistan’s School of Climate Leadership cohort, and joined the CSR Forum Pakistan’s Community Service Learning Program. As a reviewer for the Millennium Campus Network, he evaluated fellowship applications from young changemakers around the world, considering their leadership potential, project feasibility, and prospective social impact. Abubaker joined G.I.R.L.S. because he believes youth leadership must include the meaningful participation of girls and young women. He hopes to use his experience in outreach, program development, and community engagement to expand access to mentorship and leadership opportunities. He is especially motivated to help girls in underserved communities develop confidence, explore STEM and sustainability, and become active leaders in Pakistan’s future.

Maddie Miller
Maddie Miller is an aspiring chemical engineer and writer who is passionate about expanding opportunities for women in STEM. She joined G.I.R.L.S. to combine her interests in science and communication while contributing to articles and resources that make technical subjects more engaging for young readers. Maddie hopes to encourage other girls to explore STEM confidently and to recognize writing as an important tool for explaining scientific ideas and inspiring change. Outside her academic interests, she enjoys competitive dance and reading.

Maddox Cohen
Maddox Cohen is an aspiring biomedical scientist with a particular interest in pathology and its applications to public health. She joined G.I.R.L.S. because addressing the underrepresentation of women in STEM is personally important to her. Through the organization, Maddox hopes to introduce girls to opportunities in biomedical research, medicine, and public health while helping create a supportive community for future scientists. Outside her academic interests, she enjoys track and cross-country, swimming, baking, and spending time with friends.

Rhea Meka is a student at UT Austin and an internationally competing dancer, aspiring corporate lawyer, magazine creator, and social-media enthusiast. Her experiences in performance and digital communication have taught her the importance of confidence, discipline, creativity, and effective storytelling. Rhea joined G.I.R.L.S. to help amplify the accomplishments of girls in STEM and make the organization’s opportunities more visible to young people. She hopes to use media and creative communication to build community, highlight inspiring role models, and encourage girls to pursue ambitious paths in both STEM and leadership.

Arshiya Fathima is a STEM enthusiast with strong interests in mathematics, science, technology, coding, and application development. She joined G.I.R.L.S. because she wanted to become part of a community that celebrates women’s contributions to STEM while creating new opportunities for the next generation. Arshiya hopes to help other girls discover that technology can be both creative and practical. Through workshops, educational content, and collaborative projects, she wants to encourage girls to experiment, build new skills, and use technology to solve meaningful problems.

Shruthika Rajkannan is passionate about increasing the representation and long-term visibility of women in STEM. She joined G.I.R.L.S. because she believes that, although women have made important progress, significant gaps in opportunity, recognition, and leadership remain. Shruthika hopes to contribute innovative ideas that make STEM education more inclusive and show younger girls what they are capable of accomplishing. Outside her academic interests, she enjoys playing the violin, dancing, reading, and writing poetry.

Maria Lemets is based in Warsaw, Poland, and is passionate about science, writing, innovation, and the arts. She views G.I.R.L.S. as an opportunity to contribute creative ideas, learn from an international community, and help develop projects with meaningful social impact. Scientific subjects give Mar new ways to understand the world, while writing and art allow her to communicate those ideas creatively. Through G.I.R.L.S., she hopes to encourage girls to remain curious, explore interdisciplinary interests, and recognize that scientific thinking and creativity can strengthen one another.

Caitlyn Castañeda
Caitlyn Castañeda is an aspiring mechanical engineer and Disney Imagineer from Los Angeles, California, who is passionate about blending technical design with creativity and storytelling to bring imaginative ideas to life. She founded the Wildcats in STEM Initiative to introduce students to different areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Caitlyn also created the Theme-Crafting Collective, a community where artists and STEM students collaborate to design original theme-park experiences. The initiative allows participants with different perspectives to work together on imaginative entertainment concepts. Caitlyn joined G.I.R.L.S. to expand her STEM knowledge, share opportunities with others, and show girls that engineering can be artistic, collaborative, and imaginative. She hopes to inspire young people to transform creative ideas into experiences that others can enjoy.

Felicity Carvalho
Felicity Carvalho is an aspiring scientist and writer with a particular interest in cellular biology and microbiology. Her curiosity about the life sciences began through biology coursework and has continued to grow as she explores more advanced material. Felicity joined G.I.R.L.S. because it gives her the opportunity to combine her love of science with her interest in writing. She hopes to create educational content that makes complex biological concepts understandable and exciting while encouraging girls to pursue careers in research and healthcare. Outside of STEM, she enjoys listening to music and playing the flute.

Aisha un Nisa
Aisha un Nisa is a mathematics lecturer from Pakistan and a member of the Quality Enhancement Cell at Fazaia Bilquis College of Education for Women, where she also serves as Director of Sustainability Development. Her work brings together mathematics, education, sustainability, research, and emerging technology. Aisha organizes technology events and student research projects, including activities involving blockchain. She also pursues continued learning in artificial intelligence and blockchain technology and enjoys teaching children how to program with Scratch. She joined G.I.R.L.S. because its mission closely aligns with her commitment to giving women and girls meaningful exposure to technology and innovation. Through G.I.R.L.S., Aisha hopes to develop workshops and collaborative projects that introduce girls to coding, sustainability, AI, and responsible technological development. She wants students to see themselves not only as users of technology, but also as researchers, creators, and leaders who can build solutions for their communities.

Through the organization, she hopes to contribute to coding and robotics initiatives that make engineering more approachable for girls. Outside her technical interests, she enjoys horseback riding, ice skating, animation, and developing games with friends.
